At First Georgia Community Bank, protecting the privacy and confidentiality
of your personal information is important to our employees and to us.
We value your Business and the trust you put in First Georgia Community
Bank. To offer you the financial products and services you seek, we collect,
maintain, and use information about you on a routine basis. To help you
better understand how your personal information is protected here at First
Georgia Community Bank, we are providing you with the following statement
describing our practices and policies with respect to the privacy of customer
information. In the event you terminate your customer relationship with
us, or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the
policies and practices described in this notice.
As a trusted financial institution, we collect, retain, and use nonpublic
personal information about individual customers, allowed by law, to provide
products and services to our customers. "Nonpublic personal information"
means financial information that relates specifically to you and that
is not available from a public source (such as government records, phone
books, or widely distributed media). For example, the fact that you have
a deposit account with us, and the balance of that account is nonpublic
personal information. In contrast, the fact that you have a mortgage loan
with us would not be nonpublic personal information if your loan is secured
by property that is located in any county or state where mortgage loans
are recorded in government records. We may collect nonpublic personal
information from such sources as:
- applications;
- information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others;
- information we receive from a consumer reporting agency; and
- information from persons you authorize us to contact in reviewing
your applications or transactions with us.

We collect and maintain various types of information about our customers,
including:
- Identifying information, such as social security numbers, driver's
license numbers, account numbers, names, addresses, personal identification
numbers (PINs) and passwords.
- Information regarding your creditworthiness and capacity, such as
employment status, income, and information on your assets and liabilities
that you provide to us in your applications.
- Account activity information, such as deposit and loan balances and
transaction histories.
- Information about your transactions and experiences with us, such
as your payment or overdraft history.
We may disclose all of the nonpublic personal information about you
that we collect with our corporate affiliates under certain circumstances
to provide account services. We also will disclose certain of your nonpublic
personal information to nonaffiliated third parties (persons or companies
who do not own or control, are not owned or controlled by, or are not
under common control with, the Bank) under certain circumstances (as described
below). Any nonpublic personal information shared is conducted in strict
adherence to applicable law. We do not disclose any nonpublic
personal information about you to anyone, except as permitted under law.
We may exchange such information with our affiliates and certain nonaffiliated
third parties (under limited circumstances) to the extent permissible
under law to service your account, offer you products or services we believe
you may find valuable, report to credit bureaus, manage risk, and other
financial services related activities.
Use of Information within the Bank and with our Affiliates.
First Georgia and its affiliates will use your nonpublic personal information
for the following purposes:
- To protect the security of your accounts and loans with us. For example,
we will use your personal identification numbers and passwords to prevent
unauthorized persons from accessing your accounts or account information.
- To conduct our business in a prudent and safe manner. For example,
we will use the information that you provide us on your applications
to review your application.
- To provide you offers for products and services that we believe you
might be interested in.
Disclosure to Nonaffiliated Third Parties. We may disclose
information about you, including nonpublic personal information, to nonaffiliated
third parties as described below.
- Disclosure to service providers. We may disclose
all of the information we collect, as described above, to companies
that provide financial services for us, such as ATM providers, printing
companies, check printers, and loan processors or servicers. We require
that these service providers maintain the confidentiality of your information
and that they use the information only for the purposes for which we
have provided it.
- Disclosure for marketing purposes. We may disclose
certain of the information we collect, as described below, to companies
that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial
institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements, including
our private label credit card provider. We require that these financial
institutions maintain the confidentiality of your information and that
they use the information only for the purposes for which we have provided
it. "Financial institutions" include banks, savings associations,
other lenders, insurance agents and companies, securities broker-dealers,
and other companies providing financial products or services. We disclose
the following information for these purposes:
- Your name, address, social security number, and telephone number,
and
- Information about your transactions with us, such as your account
balance, payment history, parties to transactions and credit card
use.
- Disclosure for legal requirements. We may use all
of the information we collect, as described above, to satisfy legal
requirements. For example, we will use your social security number for
income tax reporting purposes. We also will share your nonpublic personal
information with government agencies and legitimate investigators as
required or allowed by law, including in order to comply with applicable
government reporting or legal process (such as court orders, subpoenas,
or government requests) which we reasonably believe to be valid or required.
- Disclosure to consumer reporting (credit reporting) agencies.
We may disclose information relating to our transactions or experiences
with you to consumer reporting agencies and similar organizations.
- Disclosure with your consent. We may disclose the
information that we collect, as described above, with any person when
you have provided your written consent for us to do so, including when
you give someone a power of attorney or other authorization to act on
your behalf.
- Disclosure to joint applicants, guarantors, and joint accountholders.
We may disclose information about your loans or accounts with us, and
your transactions or payments with respect to such loans or accounts,
to persons who jointly own such accounts or who are your co-borrowers
or guarantors. We also may disclose information concerning your credit
history to persons who are co-applicants with you, but only if we find
it necessary to decline your application or to later take an adverse
action with respect to your loan or account.
- Account numbers. In no event will we share your account
numbers, PINs, or similar access codes to third parties for any marketing
purposes without your authorization.
We understand that the protection of your nonpublic personal information
is of the utmost importance. Guarding your privacy is our obligation.
First Georgia Community Bank maintains strict procedures and policies
to safeguard your privacy. We restrict employee access to customer information
only to those who have a business reason to know such information, and
we educate our employees about the importance of confidentiality and customer
privacy.
We continually strive to maintain complete and accurate information
about you and your accounts. If you ever believe that our records contain
inaccurate or incomplete information about you, please let us know immediately.
We'll correct any inaccuracies as quickly as possible.
If you believe we have reported inaccurate information about your account
to any consumer reporting agency, please let us know in writing. Be sure
to include your complete name, current address, Social Security number,
telephone number, account number, type of account, specific item of dispute,
and the reason you believe the information is wrong. Send your notice
